First, I want to wish a Happy Mother’s day to all of you amazing women! Second, I want to share great news: I recently became Brand Ambassador for Graphic 45 and I couldn’t be more excited and inspired to begin creating new projects! As soon as I heard the news I headed to my craft room and was so inspired. In no time, I already had a few projects completed. Mother’s Day is fast approaching so I wanted to share some projects and ideas for those of you still looking for gifts for that special mother in your life. For these projects I used the magnificent Floral Shoppe collection from Graphic 45.
The easiest way to spoil mom on that day is to get her day started with breakfast in bed. It doesn’t have to be a complicated affair. I used a simple tray, a stack of pancakes and coffee or tea for her. The details are what make this special, so I added her favorite flower and a decorated candle to make it pretty for her.
I decorated the candle using a strip of paper from the collection and made the Mom cut with my silhouette using gold paper. A savings tip is look for candles that are on clearance in stores to make them look pretty.
What a difference a simple label can make!
For my second gift, I found these beautiful set of earrings and of course, I had to make the packaging more personal.
I made a simple square using the paper collection and matted it on chipboard to hold the earrings. The box was plain and boring so it also needed a makeover. Using just ribbon, paper and a strip of tulle did the trick.
Of course I had to make a card to tell mom how special she is! The card was super easy to make just using cream cardstock as the base, ribbon, mini flowers and papers from the collection.
I made the Mom sign with my silhouette with gold paper and used gold ink to accentuate the mini flowers.
The day I finished the card was a beautiful day outside, so I went to my garden to take pictures, which gave me more inspiration.
I made a second card and discovered more ideas for gifts: plants and gardening tools, those will be a great gifts to give to mom too. Saving tips: the planters are inexpensive terracotta pots that I painted with acrylic paints, the succulents are from Michaels ( 50% off sale) and the gardening tools are from the Dollar Tree Store for 99 cents each. I’m sure mom will love this set for her garden!
But the most important part is to give her your love.
Happy Mother’s day to all you mothers, and looking forward for this upcoming year of crafting with the amazing Graphic 45 team.
