Hello friends and Happy Holidays! We are now in the rush of the holiday season and looking for those last minute gifts to give to our family and friends. I wanted to share this super easy project: A recipe box to hold all of your family recipes made with the Twelve Days of Christmas collection from Graphic 45. I hope that it will give you inspiration to create your own to give out or even to keep one for yourself.
To create my little box I used chipboard as a base. I wanted the box to be of a specific size ( 5 1/2″ x 3″ x 2 1/2″) to be able to hold the Graphic 45 square tags. If you prefer you can easily make your own at any desired size.
I then decorated my box using papers and fuzzy cut images from the collection.
I also wanted to include 3D items to decorate my box. I made Poinsettias out of red cardstock paper and used die cut items like leaves to give my box more texture. I also used a set of mini Pinecones and Berries that I purchased at my local craft store.
The base of my box has a set of four Graphic 45 antique brass claw feet metal embellishments as I wanted to make sure that my box will stand in the kitchen counter.
For the actual recipe cards I used decorated Graphic 45 square tags. I love using tags they are so easy to decorate!
I labeled my tags with the numbers 1 thru 12. I wanted to include 12 recipes to make during Christmas.
I tied different ribbons on the top of the tags to make them more festive.
Here are some of the decorated tags.
In the back of the tag I inserted my typed recipes. Do not worry if you don’t have heirloom family recipes. I also used some of the ones that come in magazines or the ones you can get free at the supermarket. Those will look awesome too!
Giving out a handmade gift is so special. I truly believe that it is not what the gift cost but the attention and love that you put into it.
I hope that you have the most amazing holiday season! I will see you soon with more projects.
