Hello and happy Halloween in advance! I wanted to share my latest completed project: a redo of my Steampunk Spells Halloween album.
This project has a little bit of a sad story. About five years ago I completed a different album using this collection, which was one of my most cherished albums. One day the album suffered water damage while stored in my original craft room. I was devastated, but still kept the album and decided to one day return it to its glory. This past year after becoming Brand Ambassador for Graphic 45 I finally decided to redo my album, but it was a little complicated. The Steampunk Spells collection is now retired, very popular, and hard to find, but I was able to find a few papers from the collection from a seller online, and then added some other papers from my stash to start the process of making my album again.
Luckily for me the cover of the album was barely damaged and just by using some extra fuzzy cut pieces it was completed. I just had to refresh some of the images that I had used as charms on the spine.
Now the inside pages were in bad shape so I had to start making them almost from scratch. At first I watched the original video of how my album was made and tried to replicate it. Almost immediately I had to change strategy and begin with a new set of pages, as I noticed how much my techniques had changed throughout the years.
I started adding flaps, inserts and pockets. Little by little my album started taking shape.
It is always the amazing Graphic 45 images that get my imagination going.
I did a lot of fuzzy cutting on this album, and most of the images are mounted on chipboard to get different dimensions.
Nowadays there are also more products available that made the making of these albums easier. For my pockets I made different tags with the new die tag sets from Graphic 45. Each tag is different and special on its own.
I just used simple images cut from the papers and mounted them on chipboard.
The Halloween tittle I made using a cut from my Silhouette.
It hard to show on the pictures but these tags are three dimensional. Every element has its own level.
Each tag is stored in different pages and pockets through the album.
Sometimes they do double duty and help to secure my pages.
In no time my album was completed and luckily I still have the original pictures saved in my computer so I can reprint them again.
I hope that you liked this project and I wish you a Happy Halloween in advance!
