Hello friends! I am so excited to share my latest project with you all, a new mini album that I created using the amazing collection from Graphic 45: Imagine.
This is the newest collection just released from Graphic 45 and I couldn’t wait to start working with it!
As soon as I saw this collection I immediately fell in love with it. It has a steampunk vibe, but also has soft and feminine touches.
As usual with Graphic 45 collections, there is always a signature paper that sets the tone for the entire collection. The one for this collection that really got my attention was the one with the full faced steampunk woman. I definitely wanted that paper to be the focal point of my album.
The completed album size was 9/12″ by 7 1/2″. I used a hidden binding method to hold the pages and black ribbon on the side for closure.
For my cover, I used mixed media products like heavy gesso, metallic paints and glitter to create a background. After that I added all the fuzzy cut images in different layers to create dimension, using chipboard and foam tape.
I added florals and metal touches to continue with the steampunk feel.
I fuzzy cut lots of butterflies from one of the papers from the collection and glued them onto the page only from the center of their bodies to give them movement. I wanted to create the illusion that all the butterflies were flying off of the page.
This paper collection has the most amazing floral images I have seen in a while. If you know me, you know that floral papers are my favorites – and this collection, in just one sheet of paper has enough florals to decorate your whole album.
I made a frame for my first interior page and used some of those florals to decorate it.
The rest of the album was completed with lots of pockets and flaps to hold my photos.
I made tags for each one of the pockets using regular size tags from Graphic 45. Making each tag different from the other was a breeze using the coordinating ephemera cards from the collection.
I wanted to create a whimsical page in the center of the album and the flying balloons images inspired me to do a pop up page that is so much fun to look at.
I used the stripped blue paper from the collection for the background, and mounted each balloon image on different levels to create the illusion of the sky.
Here is a view of the side of the album, decorated with more images from the collection.
And one more view from the front.
I hope that you guys like this mini album. I will see you soon with more projects.
