Graphic 45 2019 Brand Ambassador Audition

Graphic 45 Princess Nursery Decor and Album

Glenys Vidal

This post is my submission for the 2019 Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador audition. As you all know, I have been a G45 Brand Ambassador for the past year and would love to continue to be on the team to create more projects to share with you all! For your consideration, I created two beautiful projects using the amazing Princess collection: DIY nursery decor and a matching album.

I was so inspired when I saw the Princess collection. It reminded me of when my daughters were about to be born, and how I wanted to decorate their room.

For every mother their daughter is a little princess, that is why this paper collection is so perfect for creating beautiful things for your little one.

Let’s start first with the nursery decor. The first item that I made was an altered Graphic 45 book box to use as storage or as a jewelry box. I used papers from the collection, fuzzy cut images, and used the new gorgeous bouquet of flowers to decorate my box.

I added a touch of glitter to my flowers and some pearls and beads for an extra touch of texture.

I also decorated a lamp with some of the cut apart images from the papers. I wanted this to be  a simple but elegant touch.

The lamp was a Goodwill find and it was in bad condition when I got it. But I just spray painted the base gold, changed the shade to a more modern one, and added some vintage blocks for a whimsical touch.

To finish my decor, I simply framed one of the 4×6 ephemera cards from the collection on an inexpensive frame. I bought the frame on clearance because it had some cracks on it, but by simply adding a light coat of paint I got a beautiful decor piece. I really love how this turned out and how even the cracked parts of the frame make it more interesting to look at!

Then I wanted to create an matching album to store all the pictures of the soon-to-be-born bundle of joy.

For my album cover I used a lot of fuzzy cut images from the papers and mounted them on chipboard to create lots of dimension. I also made a frame that holds an ephemera card that can be replaced with a photo of your baby or grandchild, once it’s born.

To compliment my album I used one of the vintage metal door knobs from Graphic 45. I am so in love with the Graphic 45 metal embellishments. They are the perfect final touch to any project!

The final album measured 61/2″ x 81/2″ and its base was made out of chipboard.

For the inside of the album, I created lots of interactive pages full of pockets, flaps with lots of space to add photos or journaling.

Here are some of my favorite pages:

I made pages with pockets to hold tags. I altered two of the regular size ivory tags using fuzzy cuts images and stickers from the collection.

I added magnets to my pages to hold all the flaps more securely.

I love how all the papers from this collection match to perfection!

I wanted the album to have lots of pink and yellow colors and flower images that were fit to celebrate a princess!

I hope that you like this post and that it gives you some inspiration to use your papers to create beautiful decor pieces for your home.  Here is a video that is uploaded on my YouTube channel showing the projects more in detail.

Good luck to all of you that are applying to be Graphic 45 Brand Ambassadors, it is such an amazing experience, hope to see some of you on next years team!
