Flutter mini album and tutorial

Hello everyone! This month the Graphic 45 Facebook page challenge is to create an album using your Graphic 45 collections. I just couldn’t pass the challenge without making a project inspired by it. I decided to create a mini album using the Flutter collection.

This album is very simple in construction. I used a simple set of basic pages for it, but I couldn’t be happier with the result.

This paper collection is a fuzzy cutter dream come true.

To show how easy it is to create beautiful albums with the gorgeous Graphic 45 paper collections I wanted to make a tutorial for you all.

                                                                                                     Tutorial:

Step one:

I make all my albums using chipboard ( you can use or reuse any type) Start by measuring and cutting the chipboard in the desired size.

Step two:

Use basic cardstock to cover you chipboard, you can use any paper for this step. I usually use black, cream or white as they match all paper collections.

Step three:

use scrapbook paper to cover your spine and use a bone folder or a ruler to score you edges.

Step four:

Cover the inside of your album with your desired papers.

Step Five:

Attach your pages using your preferred method of binding. My go to method is the hidden hinge binding. There is lots of tutorials how to achieve this, but basically we can summed into scoring your paper at certain sizes and creating an accordion piece to attach your pages to.

Attach the accordion piece to you inside spine.

Step six:

Create you inside pages. This can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. For this tutorial I created a very basic set that I repeated five times. This set consist of a base page and a coordinating page with a pocket.

Tip:

use leftover scraps of paper to make your pockets.

Final step:

Attach all of your pages to the accordion fold or any other binding method used. At this point your album is ready to decorate.

Now the fun begins! Use your coordinated papers to cover the basic cardstock. You can cover it completely or leave a little of the basic cardstock showing for contrast.

No matter how basic your pages are what makes them so special is the amazing papers from the Graphic 45 collections.

Hope this post inspires you to create your own album. Visit the Graphic 45 Facebook page to follow the challenge and get lots of inspiration.
